Artist
Formed in 2017 in Porto, Madmess slowly but steadily carved their place in the European heavy psych underground scene.
After their ST/EP released in 2019, the band released their first full length album Rebirth in 2021, via Hassle Records (UK), which deepened their language and expanded their dynamic range in the realm of heavy psych rock. Thick riffs, steady grooves and long breathing structures, defined a record that felt built to last. A statement of a band that honours the roots of the genre but refuses to be trapped by its rules.
The evolution continues with The Third Coming, the band’s most recent record. Released via Glory or Death (USA), Kozmik Artifactz/ gig.ROCKS! (EU), the record carries Madmess further down their path. Songs like Death by Astonishment and Hazy Morning move with confidence and clarity, embracing classic rock spirit while keeping a psychedelic edge, sharp and alive.
Their live intensity and uncompromising sound took them to some of the scene’s most respected european festivals, including Arctangent (UK), Sonic Blast (PT), Sonic Whip (NL), Freak Valley (DE), Krach am Bach (DE), Hoflaerm Open Air (DE), as well as some of Europe's biggest showcase festivals like Monkey Week (ES), Reeperbahn (DE) and Viva Sounds (SW) in 2025.
Madmess are currently promoting The Third Coming on stage, with confirmed appearances at festivals such as Red Smoke (PL), Resurrection Fest (ES) and SonicBlast (PT). At the same time, new music is already taking shape. On stage, nothing changes. Expect volume, sweat and electricity. Madmess speaks when the amplifiers are on.
That is what we can say about them!
